PROGRESSIVE BOOK/POSTER EXHIBITION AT StuC PU, CHANDIGARH

CHANDIGARH,28 SEP (WISHAVWARTA);- Today, on birth Anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, a book exhibition by PSU (Lalkaar) in collaboration with Janchetna was organised at StuC. The book exhibition displayed books in Punjabi, Hindi and English. The books are on various social, political themes, as well as stories, novels by various Indian and foreign writers like Paash, Premchand, Tagore, Maxim Gorky, Emile Zola etc. The attraction of the exhibition was the collected works of Bhagat Singh and his comrades in Hindi as well as Collected poems of revolutionary Punjabi poet, Paash.
Gurjeet Singh, one of the activists of PSY Lalkaar present at the stall, said, “We want to promote good, progressive literature among the youth. For this purpose we frequently organise such book-exhibitions in the campus especially at such occasions. Talking about the literature present at the exhibition, Jobanpreet said “Writings of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, as well as poetry of Paash are among the most popular books today. Pamphlets on various issues also attracted students and many of them bought such pamphlets on various social issues. It is normally said that students don’t like to read anymore, that teachnology has killed the reading culture. However our experience has always been different. Today also, in just few hours, the response had been overwhelming.
Various hand-made posters of quotations by famous personalities and poems by various authors also attracted many students. Natak ‘Raja ka Baja’ was also played at StuC, which depicts the life of an unemployed Youth.
