MLAs Cheema, Khera and Dhaliwal holds joint meeting with officials to reviews progress of development works

Special camps to be organized at block level to aware people about welfare schemes

 

Kapurthala, August 5(wishavwarta)To provide a big push to the development works in the assembly constituencies of sultanpur lodhi, Bholath and Phagwara, MLAs S. Navtej singh Cheema, S. Sukhpal singh khera and S.Balwinder singh Dhaliwal today hold a joint meeting with ADC D and officials of various departments to review the progress of development works and implementation of welfare schemes at ground level.

MLAs have asked the officials of Rural development, Food supply , Punjab workers welfare construction board , Municipal councils, Panchayati Raj, Local bodies to visit the project sites in person to ensure the development works in time besides ensuring quality of work.

Taking the serious view towards the lack of awareness amongst people towards the welfare schemes of Union Government and Punjab Government, the MLAs have asked the ADC D to organise awareness camps at block level so that the people at bottom line can avail the maximum benefits of these schemes.

Taking about the smart city project at sultanpur lodhi, MLA Navtej singh Cheema has said that the work on various projects like roads, safe city, smart schools , Parks to be started in a month . It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder singh has sanctioned the projects of Rs. 134 crore few months ago. Besides that the work on projects like STP and New Tehsil complex worth Rs. 40 crore have already been started.

While in a review to the ” smart village caimpaign ” to strenthan the basic infrastructure , the MLAs terms it a game changer for the rural areas as it will provide the 100 % water supply , concrete streets, parks and 5 multipurpose stadiums at block level.

They also asked the officials to ensure that the enhanced pensions of Rs. 1500 PM to the eligible applicants from July 2021. Besides that they also advocates to engage the maximum people for Installation of solar plants under PEDA schemes .

Besides that implementation of Housing for all, Jal Jeevan Mission projects also reviewed by the MLAs.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Market committee chairmans of sultanpur lodhi Parminder singh and Rachpal singh , chairman Improvement trust sultanpur lodhi Tejwant singh, President MC sultanpur lodhi Raju Dheer , XEN sarvraj, DDPO Neeraj Kumar, DFSC Geeta bishambhu, BDPOs and EOs of Municipal councils etc.
